Well… ummm… I was Freshers’ Crew for him. I helped show him the ropes when he first arrived at the University of Bath… i.e. we did drinking games with them before taking them to Freshers’ Week events lol!
Can’t believe he won! So happy for him though…
Ok, so here is my complete recount of yesterday’s events. If you don’t like reading long things with lots of pictures about Glee then I suggest you look away now :D
So, the whole day I was so excited I could barely eat. When I left my house at about 1:45pm I actually felt like screaming. I got to my train fine and everything was gooood - I put on Born This Way on my ipod and kicked back to relax and watch. Zoe was supposed to be meeting me at London Bridge around 4pm.
About half an hour into the train journey I get a phonecall from Zoe. My phone reception is really bad, so all I get of her message is “it’s all gone tits up” AND THEN IT CUTS OUT! Naturally, in true Liz style - I freak the fuck out. The next hour is absolute hell, with me trying to send texts and shouting at my phone for having no signal. Zoe tries to ring me 4 times and I have no idea what’s happened. I even start planning a contingency plan in case she’s crashed her car and can’t come. When I FINALLY reach St Pancras it turns out that the signal tower for Zoe’s trains was STRUCK BY LIGHTENING so all trains are cancelled. What are the fucking chances???? Luckily (sooooo luckily) she has her car so she sends me a text saying that she is driving to London, so she’ll meet me at the O2.
At half 4 I arrive at the O2 without Zoe, and with no idea when she will turn up. Luckily we decided to meet mega early so I know she will make it, but I am still stressed out of my brain. I decide to buy some merch and ring Sarah to calm down a little bit.
4:45pm - Zoe arrives. Relief is not the word. We literally slow mo ran to each other from across the courtyard! Now that that drama is all sorted we get some more merch (I spent over £200 on merch. Oops :D) and then head on down to Nandos for some grub. (By this point we are both ravenous)
Eventually after yet MORE merch buying we decide to head to our seats.
They’re not quite as good as I was hoping - I do regret not getting those floor seats when I had the chance. But they are good for the little stage. And they’re seats to Glee Live - what am I complaining about??? We whiled away our time doing the quiz in the programme (what is the name of the school the Warblers attend? UMMM I DUNNO LET ME THINK… Stupid question makers)
The support act LXD (League Of Extraordinary Dancers) come on. They are ok, a bit weird. I liked the cool random flipping guy the best.
Then there was the wait for the main event. I knew it would be at least half an hour so went to the toilet but for some reason I was really paranoid so literally was in there for about a minute and rushed back. That was definitely the quickest I have ever gone to the toilet, lol :D Read Darren’s part of the programme in an American accent after accidentally saying Youtube instead of You Tuuube.
Random cheerleaders started coming round handing out barf bags which was totally pointless and people started doing Mexican waves which I hate.
Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen… it started.
DON’T STOP BELIEVEIN! They all did their intro bit and Dianna remembered to come in on time and Mark did the crotch hit BAMF thing! That made my day. I had goosebumps from the moment they arrived it was immense.
Dog Days was next. That was good, but obviously just put in there so Tina had a solo because they don’t give her anything.
For some reason my camera didn’t want to take pictures of the screen, so I only got a few decent ones the whole gig. That was a bit lame.
Ooh Chord’s ear…
Next was SING. I love that song anyway and the staging was really cool. I loved what they had on the screen.
Haha the bit with Mr Shue and Britt was funny. I liked her performance but it sounded like she was probably lip synching.
Oh my sweet Jesus then Zoe pointed to the little stage and we could see Mark even though the lights weren’t on and he was riling up the crowd and I screamed so loud. His performance was awesome, I love that song.
Could not for the life of me get a pic of Cory on drums though which was most infuriating. This was my best one.
Lol.
Then I Wanna Hold Your Hand started. I loved the staging and Chris was adorable, but if I’m being brutally honest his singing wasn’t quite up to standard. It was good, but not amazing. Which I was surprised at. I’m sure he just had an off day.
Also managed to behead him on the screen
Now this was the surprise of the show. I love Amber and know she is very talented, but I’ve always been a little bored by her ballads. THIS. WAS. AMAZING. I had no idea how freakin amazing her voice actually was. For most of the song I actually had my mouth hanging open because it was so good. Awesome awesome.
PYT was awesome. Artie is a legend. And I was so chuffed to catch the screen at the right time. Booyah.
OMG Born This Way had the coolest intro ever it was awesome and again I captured just the right points. Sometimes my camera is good to me :D
Firework was cool. Loved the actual fireworks. Still think Mark should have come on with a huge ass Catherine Wheel stuck to his chest though :D
Then. Sue came on the screen. I knew what this meant.
Before the show I had had a little chat with myself. I had said ‘Liz - I know you love the Warblers and DCriss, but you are 20 years old. When they come on you are going to play it cool and just cheer.’ Sue hadn’t even said the word Warbler and I was screaming.
Then we saw them walking towards the stage. The lights weren’t even on and they were still being introduced. I screamed louder. They actually got onto the stage and I practically died. To be honest the only thing I can compare it to is when you see those Beatlemania videos where there are girls crying. That was what it was like. Totally sad I know. But I couldn’t stop myself.
Teenage Dream was a complete blur because I recorded half of it and then flailed completely at the rest. I later found out to my horror that I accidentally DELETED said video because I thought it was just Sue talking. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! *Stabs self in heart* But I think Zoe also recorded it so that’s ok. The fact that they were actually there was just too much to take. I have no idea what I’m gonna be like next week because having Darren within about 100m was enough to send me completely over the edge. I even forgot to look for Curt and Riker.
Oh yeah and Darren was being a total bitch and moving around too much so I couldn’t take any decent screen pics of him.
What a douche.
Then they moved to the other stage (which I recorded and didn’t delete) and did Silly Love Songs and RYG, also known as RIGYA to me because I am retarded. Thankfully Darren did not get attacked.

Then the Warblers were gone :( and the rest of the crew came back on with that awesome cool choir room background. Cory introduced Lea and Chris on the little stage. Yey!
I loved doing those stage/screen shots. I’m cool. At one point Lea defintely waved at us and I waved back like some idiot
Wow. I got a screen shot of the people that were singing and it’s not blurry. I think you’ll find that’s pretty LUCKY. Oh lolololololol I’m so funny :D
River Deep Mountain High was pretty awesome. Another song that I didn’t fully appreciate until now.
OMG THE KLAINE SKIT!!!!! I don’t really have any photos because I filmed all of it (and used up about half my memory in the process) but IT WAS THE BEST SKIT EVER! Seriously it beat all the others hands down. Even though I do not ship CrissColfer at all they are adorable as Klaine together on stage. Although I kept wondering why everyone else had no idea what was going to happen and then remembered I practically knew it off my heart from watching all the vids on here :D Darren in that hat - oh my life…
Cory did Jessie’s Girl and we got Coryception and it was awesome
Loooooser Like Me! Was awesome and I loved how they only half bothered to pretend it was the end :D
Then the wait for Single Ladies. The Klaine skit had used up all my camera memory so I spent the wait frantically going through deleting stuff. I think this was where the fatal Teenage Dream deletion happened *cries* but never mind I wouldn’t have got other stuff if I had kept it.
SINGLE LADIESSSSS!!! AND KURT HAD THE CAPE ON!!!! Made. My. Life.
Then Kevin decided to have a chat with us all. He is actually one of my favourite of the cast now. I love how black he is :D
He did Safety Dance which I knew was coming but even so it was completely epic. Might actually have been my fave performance of the night. I am also now listening to that song on repeat :D
I noticed early on in the performance someone come on stage and I was like ‘that is definitely Riker’. I spent the whole thing trying to look at the screen to see if it was him so apparently missed DARREN coming on and joining them! Lol, I was like WTF??? when I read that :D
Empire State of Mind was fly - my favourite part of the whole gig was Kevin getting the whole crowd to bounce. I also spent the whole number looking at Darren’s awesome moves :D
Then Somebody To Love and I realised that this was the last song and it was nearly ending! It was a really good finish, I loved all the ticker tape (even though it made it kind of hard to see what was going on) and it was amazing. Amber’s solo again - flawless.
When it ended I couldn’t quite believe it. I managed to catch a piece of tape and kept it as a souvenir, and then saw another bit on the floor so climbed over the seats so I had red and white bits. Lol how sad. Then it was a mad ruch to exit and catch the tube and I was on the train hooooome!
Oh my God I can’t even explain in words how awesome this gig was. If I could go again today and tomorrow and the next day until the end of time I would. I also thought of the most awesome 21st birthday present for next year. VIP Glee Live tickets. Oh yeah.
